Barbara Einstein is a mother of seven and tireless advocate for improving public education in her neighborhood of Venice and throughout Los Angeles. After raising three sons – all of whom went through Los Angeles area public schools and are now at UC Santa Barbara – her and her husband Ted adopted four daughters from Haiti, who are now in the third and fourth grades. She was educated as an elementary school teacher and has taught grades 1-4, and has spent the last 18 years running the furniture important business she started with Ted. Barbara is a tireless advocate for a quality public education for all children, devoting countless hours to organizing parents in her community of Venice. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, reading, playing bridge, and traveling.
