Steve Swinson is President and Chief Executive Officer for Thermal Energy Corporation (TECO) in Houston, Texas. As the largest district energy chilled water system in the country, TECO provides thermal energy to institutions in the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world with more than 6,800 hospital beds and $1.3 billion of annually funded research. Mr. Swinson has more than 25 years of experience in the district energy industry, including executive positions at Trigen Energy Corporation, Midwest Mechanical Contractors, and Auburn University. He served as the International District Energy Association’s Chairman from 1996 to 1998 and currently serves as a Board Member. Mr. Swinson is a member of the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Hospital Energy Alliance Committee, has served on the faculty for the APPA Institute, and has authored several articles on district energy. Mr. Swinson is a registered professional engineer. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
