Leonid Fedun

Leonid Fedun is a former military man turned financial whiz. While teaching in the Siberian city of Kogalym in the late 1980s, Fedun met Vagit Alekperov, who was the head of the local oil and gas company. In the 1990s he helped privatize Lukoil, which was formed out of the best Russian oil properties. He now works as Lukoil head Alekperov's right-hand man, with a more than 9% stake in the company. Fedun also oversees the investing activities of IFD Capital. He owns the famous Moscow soccer club Spartak, on which he reportedly spends $70 million a year.
