Project Description Embracing student-centered learning is one of the keys to increasing Rhode Island’s high school graduation rate, closing achievement gaps, and ensuring college and career readiness. Rhode Island KIDS COUNT proposes to: 1) increase awareness of how student-centered learning can help increase student engagement, high school graduation rates, and college and career readiness while reducing achievement and increasing equity; 2) increase awareness of how existing policies, budgetary initiatives, and regulations already support student-centered learning; 3) identify and advocate for legislative, regulatory, and practice changes needed to increase the use of student-centered learning practices; and 4) support high-quality implementation of student-centered learning practices statewide.
