Rebecca is the Community and Partnerships Manager at Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT). In many places in the developing world good quality digital maps do not exist, leaving millions of people uncounted. Without free up to date maps it is hard to deliver healthcare and services, making places more vulnerable to disasters and epidemics. HOT creates and provides those maps through crowdsourcing remote volunteers, and empowering local communities to create maps of their livelihoods. This improves the resilience of these communities, and provides governments and organisations with the data they need to make effective decisions.
