Jim and Lindsay Kurrle have owned and operated this family business on East Montpelier Road, near Gallison Hill Road, since March 2004. They will continue to own and operate Kurrle Transport, a Vermont-based fuel hauling company operating from the same site. “This is a bittersweet time for us, said Jim Kurrle in a statement. “We are sad to say goodbye to our staff, some who have been with us since the start of our business, and our loyal customers and our vendors. This business has brought many wonderful people into our lives, some who live and work in central Vermont and others who were passing through. But we feel good about the future of this property.” Bryan Cairns, owner of Champlain Oil Co., which operates a number of Jiffy Mart gas stations and convenience stores, added: “We are very excited to be joining the Montpelier community with the purchase of Kurrle Fuels. We plan to continue to provide excellent service to the customers as Jim and Lindsay have done for so many years.”
