This Initiative functions under the leadership of Scott Warren, Democracy Fellow in Residence at the Howard R. Swearer Center at Brown University.
The initiative consists of:
A conference that brings together civic practitioners, scholars, funders, and students to discuss the role of institutions of higher education in defending democracy.
Re-Imagining A 21st Century Democracy, a crowd-sourced journal looking for new ideas about promoting democratic values and norms.
Scott Warren is the founder of Generation Citizen, a nonprofit that inspires youth to participate in politics by providing action civics education. Warren founded Generation Citizen during his senior year at Brown, and, under his leadership, the organization has launched chapters in five states and has taught over 30,000 students to drive change through civic engagement. |
