Megan works with mayors and city leaders around the world to help foster and structure strategic public-private collaboration supporting civic priorities. She advises Bloomberg Associates clients as well as Bloomberg Philanthropies grantees on ways to coordinate and leverage resources, program sustainability, and the design and creation of vehicles that organize and strengthen investments.
Megan served as President of the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City for eight years under Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. During the Bloomberg Administration the Mayor’s Fund raised nearly $400 million to meet the greatest needs of residents and identify best practices for public service delivery. The Fund partnered with 45 City agencies and offices to support innovative programs in areas including health, youth workforce development, immigration and citizenship, sustainability, financial empowerment, and public safety. Specific initiatives included the Social Innovation Fund, a federal partnership to pilot Mayor Bloomberg’s most promising anti-poverty programs in New York City and seven other U.S. cities; Family Justice Centers, which served more than 93,000 victims of domestic violence and 19,000 children; and Hurricane Sandy disaster relief efforts. The Fund’s work and collaborations helped shape national policy and informed efforts of cities across the globe.
Megan also served as Deputy Press Secretary to Mayor Bloomberg and as Director of Communications & Policy for the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation. She has worked with both local and international service providers, and has over 20 years of nonprofit and government experience in management, advocacy, and communications.
