| Notes | In 1951, Allen Dulles hired a chemist to design and oversee a systematic search for the key to mind control. By 1967 Gottlieb became head of the Technical Services Staff and held the post until his retirement in 1972. Before he left he destroyed some 80 percent of the CIA's most damaging files. Most of these had something to do with programs run by Gottlieb. |
