Martin Karp is the Israel representative of the Diane and Guilford Glazer Philanthropies since 2013. He opened the Israel Office of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles in 1984 and served as its director until his retirement in 2012.He made aliya to Israel in 1983 and served as director of the North American Desk of the information department of the World Zionist Organization, and managing editor of Israel Scene magazine and editor of the World Zionist Press Service.Before coming on aliya he served as community relations director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston.He holds a B.A. degree in history from Franklin and Marshall College and an M.A. in Middle East History from the University of Michigan.He served as an escort officer in the Israel Defense Forces. |
