LendingTree CEO and founder Doug Lebda died in an all-terrain vehicle accident in October 2025. He was 55. Lebda founded LendingTree in 1996. Lebda was President and Chief Operating Officer of IAC/InterActiveCorp and serves in the Office of the Chairman. Prior to assuming these duties in 2005, Mr. Lebda served as Chief Executive Officer of LendingTree, since September 1998. Prior to his tenure as Chief Executive Officer of LendingTree, Mr. Lebda served as Chairman of the Board and President of LendingTree from June 1996. Before founding LendingTree in June 1996, Mr. Lebda worked as an auditor and consultant for PriceWaterhouseCoopers. In addition to his multiple-decade career at LendingTree, Lebda also co-founded a financial services platform for children and families called Tykoon in 2010. He received his BA in business administration from Bucknell University. Lebda is survived by his wife, Megan, and three daughters — Rachel, Abby and Sophia. The financial media company Benziga estimated Doug's net worth in 2025 at more than $300 million.
